Where do I start my journey?
Sometimes people ask me: “So, I understand this, but where should I start?”
I don’t have the exact plan for you, or the best one-size-fits-all solution.
But if I had and could go back in time and give my insomnia-self a heads-up, here is what I would probably say to her:
You ask “Where do I start my journey?” Start with anything that is more available and resonating with you right at the moment. Whatever that is.
Don't rush, don't try to make sense of it all. You won't. There is no right order, there is only the order that is right for you and only you know (intuitively) where to begin.
Don’t be afraid of making the wrong choices and going down a few rabbit holes because even mistakes get you closer to the truth through elimination.
Start with the low hanging fruit, whatever that is for you now. The closest door that is open, the first point of contact.
Don't limit yourself to one source only. Explore your natural curiosity. Be selective, cherry-pick stuff that rings true the most. Forget about things that don’t click. Maybe they will click later, maybe they won’t ever – it’s all okay.
Everything comes in its own time. The right insights come in the right time, the right information comes in the right time, the right people come in the right time.
When you get lost on the way, again, start with anything that is more available now.
Don't overload yourself, take breaks, keep it simple. Things only get confusing when you feel you must rush. You are not in a hurry, you’ve got time. You are going at your perfect pace already.
“How long will my journey last?” you ask. The path that is right for you is unlocking in real time. No one knows where you are on your timeline while you are still on it – not even you. It is only on the tail end when the timeline becomes clear. For now, forget about a timeline, it’s irrelevant and does nothing for your journey.
This is what I would probably say to myself if I had to. But honestly, I wouldn’t say anything at all, because all the mistakes and rabbit holes and setbacks I’ve had – I needed ALL of them to get where I am now.
Bye for now ❤️
